Susana Frazao Pinheiro

Susana has over fifteen years of experience in health from various perspectives: research, policy, field and entrepreneurial. Susana has acted as consultant with the United Nations (UNDP, UNAIDS, Department of Peacekeeping Operations) and Ministries of Health for almost a decade on the development of national health, monitoring and evaluation, and emerging/humanitarian settings strategies, plans and training. Her passion to find solutions to healthcare has led her to co-develop and successfully pilot an innovative health system for real-time surveillance with the European Space Agency; this led her to be named Social Capital Markets Entrepreneur 2012.

Susana has developed and taught modules on Business and Sustainability since 2008. She seats on the Advisory Boards of Global Medical Knowledge (Boston), Oxford Entrepreneurs (Oxford) and of IES (Portugal). She is Mentor for Oxford Women in Business, Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and Commerce, Member of the Economic Research Council, UK. Susana holds a Doctorate in Clinical Medicine (HIV Immunology), University of Oxford, MBA, Oxford SAID Business School (Skoll Scholar in Social Entrepreneurship), BSc and postgrad, Tropical Medical Microbiology, Portugal.
